Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 16, 2025
Effective Date: June 16, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Technology Equals Equality, LLC (doing business as LoriBrooks.net) (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information of users (“you” or “the user”) when you use our website at LoriBrooks.net and any related services, including the MORETIME AI App and any other products or offerings provided by us (collectively, the “Service”). It also describes your rights and choices regarding your personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency.
By accessing or using our Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, you should stop using the Service. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions, and all capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide to us directly, information collected automatically through your use of the Service, and information from third parties (as described below). The types of information we may collect include:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly:
- Account and Contact Data: When you register an account or fill out forms on our site, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, company name, job title, and other identifiers. For example, if you sign up for the MORETIME AI App or our newsletter, you will provide your name and email. If you make a purchase, we (or our payment processor) will collect payment information like credit card numbers (we ourselves do not store full card numbers) and billing address.
- Profile and Social Information: If the Service allows user profiles or social logins, we might collect profile details. For instance, if you sign in via a social media account (like LinkedIn, Google, etc.), we may receive certain profile information from that service (such as your username or public profile) with your consent . If you join our community forums or Discord server, we might collect your username or social media handle to manage your access.
- Content and Files: We collect any content you submit through the Service. This includes text or media in blog comments, messages you send us (emails or chat logs with our support or AI chatbot), and data you input into the MORETIME AI App (such as your calendar events, client information, notes, documents, or any materials you upload for scheduling or content generation). If you use our AI features, we collect the prompts/questions you give and the outputs generated, as they may be temporarily stored on our servers.
- Affiliate and Founder Program Data: If you participate in our Affiliate Referral Program or as a Founding Member of the MORETIME AI App, we may collect information such as your program application details, payout information (like your PayPal email or other payment details to send commissions), and information about the referrals you have made. We may also ask for demographic or business information (e.g., your website URL, how you intend to promote our Service) as part of the affiliate signup.
- Feedback and Surveys: Information you provide when you respond to surveys, provide testimonials, or give feedback (e.g., bug reports or feature requests for the beta program). For example, Founding Members might provide feedback via the embedded chatbot or forms . This can include your opinions, experiences, or any personal information you choose to include in such communications.
- Support Communications: If you contact us for support or questions, we collect the information in your request and any contact method you provide (email, phone, etc.), as well as any additional information needed to resolve your inquiry. We may keep records of support tickets or calls for quality assurance.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically:
When you use our Service (including just browsing our website), we (or service providers acting on our behalf) automatically collect certain information about your device and usage of the Service through cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. This information may include:
- Device and Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device type (e.g., mobile or desktop), operating system, device identifiers, and approximate location based on IP. We use this to learn about your browser and operating system to optimize your experience .
- Usage Data: Dates and times of access, pages or features you visited or used, the route by which you navigated through the site (e.g., what page referred you, and what page you exit to), and search terms on our site. If you use the MORETIME AI App, we may log activities like when you log in, which modules you interact with (e.g., “Scheduling” or “Content Planner”), and performance metrics. This helps us understand user engagement and improve content.
- Interaction Data: If you interact with our emails or marketing, we may see whether you opened an email or clicked a link. On the website, if you play a video or scroll through certain content, our analytics might note that. For our AI chatbot or features, we might log usage volumes (like number of prompts) to monitor system use.
- Cookies and Similar Tech: We use cookies (small text files stored in your browser) and similar tracking technologies (like pixels, tags, or local storage) to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and gather analytics about aggregate usage . We also use cookies for affiliate tracking – for example, to note if you visited via an affiliate’s referral link so that we can attribute any resulting purchase to that affiliate . See our separate Cookie Policy for detailed information on our use of cookies and how you can manage your cookie preferences .
1.3 Information from Third Parties:
We may obtain information about you from other sources, such as:
- Integrated Services: If you connect third-party accounts to our Service, those services may send us information. For example, if you connect your Google Calendar to the MORETIME AI App, we would receive calendar events and details as needed to display and use them in the app. If you link social media for auto-posting, we might receive your profile name and authentication token to post content on your behalf. We will ask for your permission before connecting and accessing such data.
- Marketing and Referrals: If someone referred you to our Service (e.g., an affiliate or as part of a “refer-a-friend” program), they might provide us your name and email to send you an invite or discount. Also, we might receive contact info from event organizers if you attend an event where we are a sponsor or participant and consent to share info.
- Public Sources: We may collect information made publicly available, like your professional profile on LinkedIn or business website, especially if we think our Service could help your business. We use such info for B2B marketing or to personalize our outreach, in compliance with applicable laws.
- Service Providers: Analytics providers (like Google Analytics) and advertising partners might provide us aggregated demographic or interest data they’ve inferred from your interactions with our site or others. For instance, Google Analytics might show us what percentage of our users are in certain age brackets or interest categories (this is not personally identifying, but helps us understand our audience).
- Financial Transactions: If you make a purchase, our payment processor will inform us of the transaction (date, amount, product) and if the payment was successful. We do not receive your full credit card number, but we do get a confirmation and some details like the last four digits or card type for record-keeping.
- Compliance and Fraud Prevention: In some cases, we may get information from third-party security services to help us screen for fraudulent transactions or to validate your identity for compliance (for example, an address verification service for credit card fraud prevention or checking against sanctions lists if legally required).
We treat any third-party-sourced personal data according to this Privacy Policy plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source (for example, an API’s terms of use).
1.4 Sensitive Personal Data:
We do not intentionally collect any sensitive personal data such as Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account passwords, genetic data, health information, or information about racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, union membership, or sex life/orientation. Please do not provide this type of information to us. The only health-related info we might inadvertently receive is if you mention something in communications (e.g., telling us you were out sick) or possibly in using our scheduling app (e.g., marking yourself unavailable due to medical appointments) – but we do not ask for or use this information beyond providing you the service you request. If we ever need to handle sensitive data for a specific reason, we will do so in compliance with applicable laws and with additional safeguards.
1.5 Children’s Privacy:
Our Service is not directed to children under 13 (and in some jurisdictions, under 16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use or access the Service. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe we might have information about a child under 13 should contact us so we can investigate and remove it. (Note: Our Terms generally require users to be 18 or the age of majority, so minors should only use the Service with parental consent and supervision.)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for various business and commercial purposes in accordance with the practices described in this Policy. The primary purposes for which we use your information include:
2.1 To Provide and Maintain the Service:
We use your personal information to operate our website and the MORETIME AI App and to give you the features and services you request. This includes:
- Account Service: Creating and managing your user account; authenticating you when you log in; remembering your settings and preferences; and processing transactions you initiate (such as fulfilling orders, subscriptions, or scheduling events). For example, we use your email and password to allow you to log in securely, and use your name to personalize your account profile.
- Core Functionality: If you use the AI scheduling and content tools, we use your input data (calendar info, content prompts) to generate the results and display them to you. If you set up automations (like posting to social media or sending emails through our system), we use stored information (e.g., your social account token or your email content) to carry out those tasks.
- Communicating With You: We use contact details to send transactional communications: confirmations of sign-up, payment receipts, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages. For example, if you sign up for a consultation, we’ll email you the meeting details; if our service is down for maintenance, we might email all users about the downtime.
2.2 To Improve and Customize the Service:
We strive to make our Service better and more useful. To do that, we use information:
- Understanding Usage: We analyze how users navigate and use our website and app to identify trends and preferences . For example, we might see that many users drop off at a certain step of onboarding, indicating we need to simplify it. Or we might measure which features are used most often to decide what to enhance. This helps us optimize user experience and content relevance.
- AI Training and Enhancement: With appropriate safeguards, we may use data from your interactions with our AI features to improve the algorithms and responses. For instance, we may review some AI chat transcripts or prompts in aggregate to fine-tune the AI’s performance (we would exclude personally identifying details or ensure data is anonymized where possible). We do not use any of your personal files or proprietary business data you input for unrelated AI training without permission; any AI learning is intended to improve the Service functionality for you and other users.
- Customization: We might use cookies or local storage to remember the last module you were in, or to keep you logged in, etc. Also, we might personalize content such as showing you tips relevant to how you use the app (e.g., if we see you use scheduling heavily, we might recommend a blog post about scheduling best practices).
- Testing and Research: We may use data internally for troubleshooting, research, and development. For example, if an error is reported by your browser, the technical data helps us diagnose the problem. We may run beta tests or pilot programs (with appropriate user consent) to gauge interest in new features.
2.3 Marketing and Promotional Communications:
We use contact information like your email to send you marketing communications, but only in accordance with your preferences and applicable law. This includes:
- Newsletters and Updates: If you subscribe to our newsletter or are a customer, we may send you content like our “Small Business with Lori Brooks” blog updates, AI strategies, or announcements of new features. With your permission, we may also send occasional text messages or in-app notifications for important updates.
- Promotional Offers: We might inform you of new products, special offers, early access opportunities (like the Founders program), or events we think may interest you. For instance, if we launch a new AI tool, we might email our users about a beta signup.
- Affiliate Program Info: If you are an affiliate, we will send communications related to program terms, new promotions available for you to share, or tools to help you succeed as an affiliate.
- Ads on Other Platforms: We may use services like Facebook Custom Audiences or Google Ads to show you targeted advertisements on their platforms. This could involve sharing a hashed version of your email with the platform to match you (so they can show our ad to people who have an account with that email) – we do this only if we have the legal right (your consent where required). You can opt out of such matching by contacting us. The ads you see might be based on information we collected (like you visited our site) combined with the platform’s own data .
Your Choices: If you no longer want to receive marketing emails, you can opt out at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in those emails or contacting us. Note that you will still receive transactional messages necessary for the Service (like billing emails or support responses). If you have opted in to SMS alerts, instructions to stop will be included (e.g., replying “STOP”). We do not share your contact info with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing without your consent.
2.4 Affiliate Tracking and Rewards:
As part of running our Affiliate/Referral Program, we use personal information to track and attribute referrals and to pay out commissions. Specifically:
- We use cookies and unique links to identify when a referral visit or sign-up comes from you as an Affiliate . We log which new customers signed up via your link.
- We maintain a record of commissions earned, pending, and paid to you, which includes the referred customers’ purchase amounts and dates (we generally identify customers by an ID or email, but we use this only internally for tracking and not for other marketing unless those referred customers separately opt in).
- We use your provided payout information (such as PayPal email) to send you your commission payments.
- We may also publish, with your consent, your name or affiliate username on a leaderboard or announcement if we have a rewards program for top affiliates. If you prefer to remain anonymous in such cases, let us know.
2.5 To Comply with Law and Enforce Policies:
We may use or disclose your information as we believe necessary or appropriate to:
- Comply with legal obligations: Respond to subpoenas, warrants, or other legal process; or to establish or exercise our legal rights; or defend against legal claims. If we receive a lawful request for data about your account from law enforcement or regulators, we may have to provide it.
- Enforce our agreements and policies: Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to anyone’s safety, or violations of our Terms and Conditions or other agreements. For example, if we suspect an account is being used for spamming or other misconduct, we may analyze that account’s activity more closely and share relevant info with enforcement authorities if needed .
- Protect rights and safety: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of our Company, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
2.6 Other Purposes with Consent:
If we intend to use your personal information for a purpose that is not outlined in this Privacy Policy, we will ask for your consent. For instance, if we ever wanted to feature your success story as a case study on our site, we would ask for your permission to use your name, logo, or quotes. You have the right to decline, and even if you consent, you can contact us later to withdraw that consent for future use.
3. How We Share or Disclose Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for money . However, we do share certain categories of information with third parties for the business or commercial purposes described below. When we share data, we ensure the third party is contractually or legally obligated to safeguard it and use it only for the intended purpose.
3.1 Service Providers:
We use trusted third-party companies to perform functions and provide services to us (commonly called “processors” or “service providers”). These include:
- Hosting and Infrastructure: Companies that provide cloud hosting, data storage, and server maintenance for our website and app. For example, if our site is hosted on a platform like Rebel.com or Amazon Web Services, your data (including personal info and content) is stored on their servers . They are not allowed to access or use your data except as needed to maintain the service.
- Payment Processors: We rely on external payment gateways (like Stripe, PayPal, or others) to handle credit card processing and subscription billing . These processors collect your payment details securely and only share with us the info needed (e.g., confirmation of payment, last four digits of card, etc.). They may have their own privacy policies that apply to the info you provide to them, and we recommend reviewing those for more details on their practices.
- Email and Communication Tools: Services that help us send emails, newsletters, or notifications to you (e.g., Mailchimp, SendGrid) or provide chat/support functionality (like an in-app chat widget or CRM for managing support tickets). These providers get access to your contact info and the content of communications as needed to perform their tasks.
- Analytics and Performance Tools: Third-party analytics services (like Google Analytics, or other tools like Mixpanel, etc.) that collect usage data and help us analyze user behavior . They may set their own cookies or use similar tech to gather information about your interactions with our Service. This data is generally aggregated and not tied to your name, but in theory IP addresses or unique IDs could be considered personal data. We ensure that any analytics provider is under obligations to not use the data for their own purposes beyond providing services to us. (Google Analytics, for instance, has a policy restricting data sharing except as directed by us, and we can control settings like IP anonymization if required.)
- Advertising Partners: If we engage advertising networks or social media platforms to show ads for our Service on other websites or platforms, we may provide hashed contact info or other identifiers as described in Marketing above. These partners would use the info to match our ads to the right audiences. We also use re-targeting scripts (like the Facebook Pixel or Google Ads tag) which will notify those platforms that you visited our site, so they might show you our ads later. You can typically opt out of such targeting via those platforms’ settings or via browser opt-out tools (see Cookie Policy).
We ensure that our service providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations and can only use your data to provide services to us and not for other purposes . We do not authorize them to keep or use your personal data for their own (except as part of delivering our services or as required by law, e.g., a payment processor keeping records for financial regulations).
3.2 Within Our Corporate Group:
If Technology Equals Equality, LLC has affiliates, subsidiaries, or common ownership with other entities, we may share your information within this “corporate family” for purposes consistent with this Policy. For example, if in the future we form a parent corporation or another startup branch, we might share customer lists or platform data with them for analytics or combined services. Any such related entities would also be bound to protect your privacy in line with this Policy.
3.3 Business Transfers:
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or financing, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy or insolvency, personal information may be transferred to a successor or affiliate as part of that transaction . For instance, if another company acquires LoriBrooks.net or the MORETIME AI App, your information would likely be one of the transferred assets so that the service can continue under the new owner. In such cases, we will require the new owner to continue honoring the privacy commitments we have made in this Policy (unless they obtain your consent for new practices). We will notify you (for example, via email or a notice on our site) of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
3.4 Legal and Safety Disclosures:
We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with the law: This includes responding to lawful requests by public authorities, such as a subpoena or court order . We try to balance your privacy rights against legal requirements, and if permitted, we will notify you of such requests before disclosing (so you can object or seek legal protection) unless the request or law forbids it.
- Protect our rights or others: If necessary to enforce our Terms and other agreements; to investigate or defend ourselves against third-party claims or allegations; to detect, prevent, or address fraud or other illegal activity; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or the Company . For example, we may share information with law enforcement if we suspect someone is using our Service for phishing or scams. Or if a user threatens violence in a communication, we might alert appropriate authorities.
- Assist with emergencies: In an emergency where someone’s health or safety is at risk, we might share limited information (for instance, providing a user’s location to emergency responders if we have it and a life-threatening situation is reported).
These kinds of disclosures are unusual and we will limit them to the information that is reasonably necessary for the purpose (e.g., if responding to a legal request, we will only provide the data specified and nothing more). Also, we will object to overly broad or unlawful requests to the extent possible.
3.5 Aggregate or De-Identified Data:
We may also share information that has been aggregated (combined with other users’ data) or de-identified (stripped of personal identifiers) such that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you. This kind of data is no longer considered “personal information.” For example, we might publish reports or infographics showing general usage trends (“30% of our users are small business owners in finance industry” or “Most popular time to schedule social media posts is 10am Monday”) using aggregate statistics drawn from our data. Or we may share de-identified click data with a research partner to study how entrepreneurs use AI tools. We ensure that such data cannot be traced back to individuals by recipients.
3.6 With Your Consent:
Apart from the situations above, we will ask for your consent before sharing your personal information with any third party for purposes not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you direct us to share information with a third party – for example, if you use a feature to publish a testimonial on a partner’s site, or integrate a new service that requires sending your data – we will do so only with your direction. You can revoke your consent at any time, but that will not undo any sharing that has already occurred.
To summarize, we do not share personal data except as needed to run our business and provide our services, or as required by law. We do not monetize your personal information by selling it to data brokers or advertisers . If any sharing arrangement does not fit neatly into one of the categories above, we will be transparent about it and let you opt-in or opt-out as appropriate.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our partners use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and app to provide and optimize the Service, as well as for analytics and advertising purposes. This section provides a brief overview; for more detailed information, please see our full Cookie Policy on our site .
4.1 What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, etc.) by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by others, like analytics or ad partners). Cookies may be session-based (temporary, erased when you close your browser) or persistent (lasting until they expire or you delete them).
4.2 Types of Cookies We Use:
- Essential Cookies: These are necessary for our website and Service to function properly. For example, they allow you to log in, keep your session active, or use shopping cart features. Without these cookies, some parts of the Service would not work. Because they are essential, you cannot opt out of these cookies if you want to use the Service. (However, you can always block cookies entirely in your browser, but note that doing so may disable certain functionality.)
- Functional Cookies: These remember your preferences and help personalize your experience. For instance, they may store your preferred language, or remember fill-in form information so you don’t have to re-enter it. They can also be used to provide enhanced features, like playing videos or enabling live chats. While not strictly necessary, these improve convenience.
- Analytics Cookies: These cookies collect information about how visitors use our site, which pages are visited most often, or if certain emails were opened. We use this data to improve our content and user experience . The information is generally aggregated and not used to identify individuals. For example, Google Analytics may set cookies to track pageviews and dwell time. We have configured some analytics cookies to anonymize IP addresses where applicable.
- Advertising Cookies: We may allow advertising partners to set cookies to deliver ads that are relevant to your interests. These cookies can remember that you visited our site and then show you our advertising on other sites (retargeting). They also measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns (e.g., seeing if you clicked an ad and later signed up). If we send any information to advertising networks (like a hashed email for matching), they may combine that with cookies to better target ads to you. You can opt out of many of these by using tools like the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out or by adjusting your cookie settings as described below.
4.3 Managing Cookies:
On your first visit to our site (or after significant updates), we present a cookie consent banner (if required by law in your region). You have the option to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link on our site . This will bring up a tool where you can adjust which categories of cookies you allow. Note that changes may not take effect until you refresh the page.
Additionally, most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can usually set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set or updated, or to block cookies altogether. Each browser is a little different, but help documentation for common browsers is available (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.) . Keep in mind that if you disable cookies entirely, our site may not function properly (especially login and other secure areas).
For mobile app (if our Service is used via a mobile app), your device may allow you to limit tracking via settings like “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android.
4.4 Do Not Track:
“Do Not Track” (DNT) is a preference you can set in some browsers to signal that you do not want to be tracked across websites. Our site does not currently respond to DNT signals, in part because there is not yet a consensus on how to interpret them. We treat all users’ data in accordance with this Policy, and if a standard for DNT emerges, we will re-evaluate our approach. In the meantime, use the opt-out mechanisms described above to control tracking.
4.5 Other Tracking Technologies:
We may use other, related technologies like web beacons (tiny graphics that detect if an email was opened or a link was clicked) and local storage (which can store data in your browser similar to cookies). These help us with analytics and ad measurement. You generally cannot opt out of web beacons specifically, but if you choose not to load images in emails, that can prevent the beacon from loading. And controlling cookies and scripts as described above will cover most other tracking tools as well.
For more details or updates about our use of cookies and similar tech, please refer to our Cookie Policy page, which is incorporated by reference into this Privacy Policy.
5. Data Security and Retention
5.1 Data Security Measures:
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect it from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction . These measures include:
- Encryption: Our website is protected via HTTPS; data in transit between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). For sensitive information like passwords and payment details, we use additional encryption or rely on secure third-party processors compliant with PCI-DSS for credit card data .
- Access Controls: Personal data is accessible only to those of our personnel and service providers who need it to perform their tasks and are bound by confidentiality. We maintain access logs and monitor access patterns for any irregularities.
- Authentication: We encourage (and may require) strong passwords for user accounts. Where possible, we offer two-factor authentication (2FA) for an extra layer of security on your account. Internally, our staff uses 2FA and other best practices for systems containing personal data.
- Network Security: Our servers are protected by firewalls, regular security patches, and monitoring tools to detect and prevent potential intrusions. We may run regular vulnerability scans and employ intrusion detection systems. Data is stored on secure servers, often in accredited data centers with robust physical security.
- Employee Training: We train our team about the importance of data privacy and security. Only authorized staff have access to personal data, and misuse by employees would result in disciplinary action.
- Incident Response: We have an incident response plan for potential data breaches. In the event of a breach that affects personal data, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law, and take steps to mitigate any harm.
Despite our efforts, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure . We cannot guarantee absolute security. You also play a role: protect your account credentials, choose unique and strong passwords, and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account. If you have reason to believe your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel your account security was compromised), please contact us immediately.
5.2 International Data Transfers:
We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is predominantly processed and stored on servers located in the U.S. However, we (or our service providers) might process data in other countries as well. If you are accessing the Service from outside the U.S., be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions that may not have the same level of data protection laws as your home country. We rely on legal mechanisms for such transfers: for example, if you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, or UK, we will ensure transfers are made under EU Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards in compliance with GDPR requirements . By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Policy.
5.3 Data Retention:
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it (outlined in this Policy) and to comply with applicable laws . The retention period can vary based on context:
- Account Data: We retain your account information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time after closure, except as noted below.
- Transaction and Subscription Records: We retain records of purchases, invoices, and payments for at least the duration required by tax and accounting laws (often 7 years) . If you were part of an affiliate program, we retain commission records similarly for accounting and audit.
- Communications: Emails and support tickets may be retained for a few years to track our interactions and resolve any later issues. If you publicly posted content on our site (like a comment), it might remain visible to others unless you ask us to remove it.
- Usage Data: Aggregated analytics data is often retained indefinitely as it contains no personal identifiers. Raw logs may be kept for a short period (a few months) then either deleted or anonymized.
- Backup and Archives: Copies of your data might remain in system backups for a short duration beyond active deletion (our backup cycles typically overwrite data after a certain period). During that interim, your data is not actively used but remains on our secure backup storage.
- Legal Needs: If needed for legal purposes – e.g., if we are handling a dispute or if we receive a “litigation hold” to preserve data – we will retain relevant information until the matter is resolved. We also keep information to enforce our agreements and to prevent abuse (for example, if we terminate an account for serious violation, we might keep a record of that user to block future accounts).
After the retention period, we will securely delete or anonymize your personal information. If complete deletion is not possible (for example, because the data is stored in backups), then we will securely store it and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction and the applicable data protection laws, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
6.1 Access and Portability: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you . This is sometimes called a “data subject access request.” We can confirm if we’re processing your personal data and provide you with a copy of that data, as well as details like the purposes of processing and who we share it with. In certain cases, you may request the data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (data portability), especially if it’s info you provided and processed by us on the basis of consent or contract. For example, you can ask for a copy of all your account details and communications.
6.2 Rectification: We strive to keep your information accurate and up-to-date. If you notice that any personal information we have is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request correction or updating of that information . For instance, if your email or phone number changes, you can update it in your account settings or ask us to change it. We may need to verify the new information you provide, but we will correct mistakes as soon as possible.
6.3 Deletion (Right to Erasure): You may have the right to request deletion of your personal information (the “right to be forgotten”) . We will honor such requests to the extent required by law. For example, if you no longer want us to have your data, and there’s no need for us to keep it (e.g., for ongoing services or legal compliance), we will delete it. Note that this right is not absolute – we may retain certain information to fulfill legal obligations or protect our legitimate interests (see Data Retention above). If you have an account, you can also typically delete certain info directly (like removing a profile or deleting files you uploaded). When we process a deletion request, we will also instruct our service providers to delete the data, where applicable.
6.4 Restriction of Processing: You can ask us to limit or restrict the processing of your personal information in certain situations . For example, if you contest the accuracy of the data, you can request we refrain from processing it (aside from storing it securely) until we verify its accuracy. Or if you object to a processing activity (see below) and we are considering your objection. When processing is restricted, we will let you know before we lift the restriction.
6.5 Objection to Processing: You have the right to object to certain processing of your personal data.
- Direct Marketing: You can always object to or opt out of our processing of your data for direct marketing purposes. If you say no to marketing, we will stop using your data for that. This includes profiling related to marketing. (We usually get your consent for marketing in the first place, but if you change your mind, you can opt out anytime.)
- Legitimate Interests: If we process your data based on legitimate interests (as opposed to consent or contract), you can object if you believe it impacts your rights. We will then reconsider our justifications. If your rights outweigh our interests, we will stop or adjust the processing. For example, if we have some analytics or security process that you feel is unwarranted, you can raise an objection.
- Automated Decision-Making: We generally do not make legally significant decisions about you solely by automated means. If we ever do (like an AI denying an application without human review), you’d have the right to object and request human intervention, but currently this doesn’t apply to our Service.
6.6 Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing (e.g., for sending marketing emails, or for processing sensitive data if that ever happened), you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time . This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal, but it means we will stop the specific processing going forward. For instance, if you gave consent for us to feature your testimonial with your name, you can later withdraw it and we will stop using your name in new marketing materials.
6.7 Data Portability: As mentioned under Access, in some cases you can request a digital copy of personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and you have the right to transmit that to another controller (if technically feasible). This applies when processing is automated and based on your consent or a contract.
6.8 Non-Discrimination: If you exercise any of these rights, we will not discriminate against you or penalize you. For California residents, specifically, exercising privacy rights under CCPA/CPRA will not result in denied goods or services, different pricing, or lower quality (unless the difference is reasonably related to the value of the data, as permitted by law) .
6.9 How to Exercise Your Rights:
- Contact Us: To exercise any of your rights, please contact us at privacy@loribrooks.net or mail us at the address provided in the Contact Information section below, Attn: Privacy. Provide sufficient information for us to verify your identity (for example, the email associated with your account, or other identification) and to understand and respond to your request.
- Account Settings: If you have an account with us, some rights can be exercised directly by logging in. For example, you can access and update your profile and contact info, and you can usually export data (if we offer a data download feature) or delete your account in the settings.
- Verification: For certain requests (like access or deletion, especially if sensitive data is involved), we may need to verify your identity to prevent unauthorized access. We might ask you to provide additional proof or answer some questions that only you would know. If we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request, we will not fulfill the request for security reasons, and will let you know if more info is needed.
We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by law (which might be 30 days under GDPR, and 45 days under CCPA, with possible extension if necessary). There is no fee for making a request, although if requests become excessive or unfounded, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee or refuse, as permitted by law.
6.10 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA): If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by CPRA) provides additional rights:
- Right to Know: You can request that we disclose what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and sold about you over the past 12 months . This includes the categories of personal info, the categories of sources, the business purposes, the categories of third parties we shared with, and the specific pieces of info. Much of this is outlined in this Privacy Policy, but you have a right to request more detail or a report for your specific data.
- Right to Delete: As noted, you can request deletion of personal info we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions . If an exception applies (for instance, if data is needed to complete a transaction, detect fraud, or comply with a legal obligation), we will inform you.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the CCPA’s definition of “sale” and “sharing” can include some cases of sharing for advertising purposes (like cookie-based ad targeting). Out of caution, we provide the ability for you to opt out of any such sharing. You can click the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our site (usually in the footer) to set preferences for advertising cookies. If we have any third-party advertising cookies, toggling those off will opt you out. You can also use the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser; if our site detects a GPC signal, we will treat it as a do-not-sell request .
- Right to Correct: California law (via CPRA) also provides a right to request correction of inaccurate personal info, which we already accommodate as described.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Info: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal info for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the services (no secondary use). If that changes, California residents will have the right to limit such use.
- Authorized Agent: You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. If you do so, we will need to verify the agent’s authority (like a signed permission from you) and may still verify your identity directly for security.
- Non-Discrimination: As stated, we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We have provided much of the required CCPA information in this Privacy Policy (like categories of info and purposes). For a summary: in the preceding 12 months, we collected identifiers (e.g., name, email), commercial info (transactions), internet activity (usage data, cookies), and professional info (if you provided it), from the sources and for the purposes described above. We disclose these categories to service providers and other parties as explained. We do not sell your info for money, and any sharing for interest-based advertising can be opted out as described.
6.11 EU/UK GDPR Rights: If you are in the European Union, UK, or similar jurisdictions, the rights in Section 6.1–6.5 above apply to you. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, especially in your country of residence, work, or where an issue occurred, if you believe our processing of your personal data violates the GDPR. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so we invite you to contact us directly to resolve any issue.
6.12 Brazil (LGPD) and Other Regions: If you are in Brazil, you have rights similar to GDPR under the LGPD (e.g., confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization/blocking/elimination of unnecessary data, portability, deletion, info about sharing, and right to revoke consent). We respect those rights as described in our general approach. For other jurisdictions (Canada, Australia, etc.), we aim to comply with applicable requirements and to provide you with control over your information.
7. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites, plug-ins, or services that are not operated by us. For example, our blog may link to external resources or we might have social media “follow” buttons. Additionally, if you leave our site via certain links (like an affiliate link to a product we recommend), you will be interacting with a third-party site.
Please note: This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party sites or services, even if you access them through our Service . We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or how they handle your information. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of every website or service you visit.
Examples of third-party interactions on our Service include:
- Embedded Content: Our site might have embedded content (e.g., YouTube/Vimeo videos, SlideShare presentations, or a Twitter feed). Viewing or interacting with embedded content is like visiting the third-party site – they may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, etc., according to their own policies.
- Social Media: If you click on a Facebook, Instagram, or X (Twitter) button or link on our site, that social network may record that action and use it according to your privacy settings with them. If you engage with us on social media (like commenting on our posts), that information is governed by the social platform’s policy.
- External Tools: If we suggest that you sign up for a webinar on Eventbrite or schedule a meeting via Calendly (as hypotheticals), you’d be providing information directly to those platforms under their terms. Similarly, if our MORETIME AI App integrates with external services (like connecting to Zapier or a CRM), any data passed to those services will be handled by them once in their system.
- Affiliate/Partner Offers: Our site, newsletters, or community might mention products or services offered by partners or affiliates. If you choose to pursue those offers, any information you provide to that third party (even if you came through our referral link) is not covered by our Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties . However, we do welcome feedback about interactions with third parties that are linked from our Service, to ensure we align with providers who maintain high privacy standards. If you have concerns about how a partner is handling your data, let us know and we will do our best to address it or stop integrating with them if appropriate.
8. Children’s Privacy
As stated earlier, our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions without parental consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on our website or through our Service.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 13 has an account with us or otherwise provided us their personal information, please contact us at privacy@loribrooks.net so we can take appropriate action.
For minors aged 13 to 17: If our Service is used by minors (for example, a 17-year-old entrepreneur using our tools with parental permission, or a student accessing content), we encourage parents/guardians to be involved in those activities. Some jurisdictions give minors rights to request removal of content they posted. If you are under 18 and have posted content on our site that you cannot remove via normal means, you can contact us to request deletion or anonymization of that content, and we will do so to the extent required by law. Do note that such removal does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal from the Internet, especially if third parties have re-posted or cached the content.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will notify you by one or more of the following: (1) posting a prominent notice on our website (for example, a banner or modal pop-up, or an update to the Privacy section indicating a new version and date), (2) sending you an email or message (if we have your contact and permission to message for this purpose), or (3) other reasonable means as appropriate . We will also update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy.
Any changes will become effective on the Effective Date indicated. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our practices. If you continue to use the Service after the updated Policy takes effect, it means you accept those changes. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using the Service and may request that we delete your personal information if desired.
For significant changes that affect previously collected data, we may seek your consent as required by law (for example, if we want to use your data for a new purpose not covered by the original consent, we’ll ask you first).
